The 8.6-kilometer toll road will initially operate for 12 hours daily, with plans for potential 24-hour service based on further evaluations.
“Operational hours may be extended if necessary. On-site conditions are being reviewed to ensure preparation,” said Chief Sigit, as reported by antaranews.com.
He stressed the importance of addressing accident-prone areas, urging authorities to secure proper signage and road markings.
“All safety measures must be thoroughly prepared,” he added.
With heavy rainfall raising risks of floods and landslides in 14 areas across Central Java, Chief Sigit noted disaster mitigation efforts are underway, involving police units, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), and local administrations under Operation Aman Nusa.
Commander Agus Subiyanto confirmed the military’s support, deploying 5,600 personnel from the Diponegoro military command in Central Java, along with tow trucks and field hospitals, to assist with traffic management and emergency responses during the holiday period.
