Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo received the “Adat Ingatan Budi” award from the Riau Malay Cultural Council (LAMR) in a ceremony held in Pekanbaru, Saturday (12/7/2025).
LAMR Chairman Datuk Seri Taufik Ikram Jamil said that the award honors the cultural value of budi—a concept rooted in Malay tradition that embodies gratitude, refined character, and noble conduct.
“This is not merely a ceremony, but a deep tribute to the values of gratitude in Malay heritage,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The concept of Ingatan Budi goes beyond memory, symbolizing ethical awareness and refined behavior, forming the basis of Malay civilization.
LAMR emphasized the importance of cultural values in national life and said the award transcends religion and nationality, honoring contributions to society.
“This tradition of honoring goodwill has been passed down for generations,” Taufik added, citing historical figures like Hang Tuah and acts of respect beyond ethnic and religious lines.
