Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo monitored New Year’s Eve 2026 security nationwide from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police to ensure public safety and uninterrupted services, following directives from President Prabowo Subianto.
“Securing New Year’s Eve activities and public services is our top priority, as instructed by the President,” he said on Wednesday night (31/12/2025), highlighting police commitment to manage worship services, public gatherings, and tourist sites.
The monitoring showed most communities complied with local regulations, including refraining from fireworks and holding joint prayers as solidarity with disaster victims in Sumatra. Police also recorded a year-on-year decline in traffic accidents and crime compared to 2024.
Chief Sigit instructed all units to remain alert, coordinate with other state institutions, and respond swiftly to extreme weather risks. He stressed that law enforcement must remain proactive, not reactive to public pressure, countering the “no viral, no justice” perception by ensuring firm action and transparency regardless of public attention.
