Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), presided over the send-off ceremony for the Garuda Bhayangkara (Garbha) Contingent of FPU 5 MINUSCA Task Force at the Bhayangkara Field in South Jakarta. "May this ceremony further enhance the pride and spirit of all personnel of Garbha of FPU 5 MINUSCA Task Force. May the execution of the mission proceed optimally and contribute to peace in the assigned area," stated the Chief of INP. The INP is once again deploying the Garbha Contingent of FPU 5 MINUSCA Task Force peacekeeping mission in Bangui, Central Africa. The contingent consists of 116 male police officers and 24 female police officers, each having undergone rigorous selection and assessment, as he remarked, "This contingent consists of resilient individuals who have undergone rigorous selection and assessment processes. They have also received pre-assignment training in accordance with UN standards for seven months." Since 1989, the INP has deployed a total of 3.184 personnel to Formed Police Units (FPUs) and Individual Police Officers (IPOs) in 21 missions across 19 countries. This places Indonesia at the 11th position among Police Contributing Countries, signifying significant contributions to UN peacekeeping efforts. The Chief of INP said that serving in a peacekeeping force is an exceptional honor and a source of immense pride. He also stressed that this role not only advances global peace but also showcases Indonesia on the world stage. "The success of the mission is a non-negotiable priority. Through this mission, it is expected that our colleagues to enhance stability, security, and conflict resolution in the mission area, while also bolstering international trust in Indonesia," he said. Furthermore, he provided directives for the entire contingent, emphasizing the need to swiftly adapt to the situation in the mission area and to avoid any form of deviation, regardless of its scale, to uphold the reputation of the INP and the nation. "Prioritize the protection of the community above else. Maintain unity and solidarity within the Garbha Contingent of FPU 5 MINUSCA Task Force and coordinate with contingents from other countries, as well as the local government and police, and international organizations, to support the execution of your duties," said the Chief of INP. In his concluding remarks, he underscored the importance of instilling pride that this mission is a noble task that brings benefits to humanity and global peace, stating, "Lastly, I extend my best wishes for success in your mission. I entrust the good name of the INP and the nation to all of you. May you return home safely and resolute, lacking nothing." (ar/inp/pr/nm)
