Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) plans to install 436 bore wells to restore access to clean water in disaster-affected areas following floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the program covers 261 wells in Aceh, 25 in North Sumatra, and 150 in West Sumatra.
“We are planning the construction of 436 bore wells across three provinces to accelerate recovery efforts,” he said on Monday (29/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com
The initiative targets communities hit by recent disasters, with installation already underway and supported by 750 police personnel. As of now, 145 wells are operational and supplying clean water to residents in Aceh and North Sumatra.
In West Sumatra, the INP is preparing 150 bore wells, including priority locations in Palembayan District, Agam Regency, to support communities still struggling with limited water access.
The program is part of the INP’s humanitarian response to ensure basic needs are met during post-disaster recovery.
