Inp.polri.go.id - Bali. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has pledged to assist in the search for a fugitive from Japan suspected to have fled to Indonesia.
The suspect, known only as Y, 42-year-old, has been a wanted person in Japan on suspicion of involvement in an investment scam carried out through a tourist farm management company in Akaiwa City, Okayama Prefecture.
Head of Public Relations Division of the INP Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said that INP will verify whether a request has been submitted by the Japanese police to the International Relations Division of INP.
"We will verify if the request has been submitted by them. In regards to a criminal offense committed by the suspect, we will assist to cooperate and effectuate an arrest," he said during the Public Relations Division Technical Meeting in Bali on Friday (3/3/23).
The chief spokesperson explained that the request is a mechanism for foreign law enforcement agencies to communicate and cooperate with the INP regarding law enforcement matters.
