Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesia’s National Police (INP) have uncovered a massive 25-hectare cannabis plantation in Nagan Raya, Aceh, as part of a major narcotics operation by the Criminal Investigation Agency’s Narcotics Directorate.

“This operation revealed eight plantation sites containing approximately 960,000 cannabis plants, estimated to weigh around 180 tons,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, the Director of Narcotics, on Tuesday (24/6/2025).

The investigation began after police seized 27 kilograms of dried cannabis in Bener Meriah in May and arrested a courier, identified asYH alias Musra. His confession led authorities to uncover multiple fields allegedly owned by a suspect identified as F, now on the wanted list.

Two suspects—identified as YH and KR, who allegedly packaged the drugs—have been arrested, while two others remain at large.

Police destroyed the plantations from Sunday to Tuesday. The cannabis was reportedly grown on private farmland and shipped through intermediaries.

The suspects face charges under Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics, which carries severe penalties.
