Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara, through PT Danantara Asset Management (Persero), has provided a shareholder loan worth Rp 6.65 trillion (approximately USD 405 million) to national carrier Garuda Indonesia as part of a broader transformation agenda.
“This funding is a tangible form of our transformation mandate, with a professional, measured approach grounded in good governance,” said Danantara COO Dony Oskaria at a press conference on Tuesday (24/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The funds will support maintenance and inspection programs as part of a larger USD 1 billion restructuring effort, which includes business optimization, long-term financing, and governance-driven recovery strategies for both Garuda Indonesia and its low-cost subsidiary Citilink.
Danantara will monitor progress through regular performance evaluations to ensure the transformation stays on track.
Garuda CEO Wamildan Tsani called the partnership a milestone in the airline’s restructuring, emphasizing that success depends not only on financing but on strategic realignment and strong commitment from all stakeholders.
