inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police confirmed that traffic congestion on the inner-city toll roads was caused by flooding after a huge downpour this morning. The congestion was most noticeable on toll roads serving as exits to inundated arterial roads.
"The congestion is felt on Podomoro and Sunter, and the exits are due to the flooding of the arterial roads, which is why traffic is congested on the toll roads," said the Head of the Highway Patrol Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, Police Assistant Superintendent Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, on Monday (1/12/2026).
According to Dhanar, the worst flooding occurred in Rawa Bokor, where the water level reached 60 cm. He said the police had implemented traffic management to ease the congestion.
"The worst situation in Rawa Bokor was with the water level reaching 60 cm. We implemented traffic management for those who want to exit to Rawa Bokor as they will be directed towards the airport. Sedans cannot pass through the Plumpang and Priok 1 exits, but minibuses can," he said.
Dhanar confirmed that the inner-city toll road remains safe and can be used normally. So far, there have been no disruptions, with only two locations experiencing congestion on Wiyoto Wiyono street and Sedyatmo street.
