inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Provincial Government is calculating the shortage of teachers due to the "cleansing" policy which cuts the number of honorary teachers. The Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono says that the calculation was meant to find a better solution and to reposition teachers.

“We are now calculating the numbers with the meeting of school principals today,” said Heru following the meeting at Velodrome, East Jakarta on Sunday (7/21/2024).

He assured that the 4,000 honorary teachers affected by the new policy will be prioritized in the basic education master data (Dapodik) to participate in the Government Employee program with a Work Agreement (P3K). On the other hand, the honorary teachers could also follow the Individual Work Contract (KKI) program which will be held in August 2024 with a quota of 1,700.

The acting head of Jakarta Educational Department, Budi Awaluddin reminds that the honorary teachers must be registered in Dapodik and not be part of the state civil apparatus (ASN), even though they have a Unique Educator and Education Personnel Number (NUPTK).
