Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta administration plans to allocate at least Rp 5 trillion annually from the city budget (APBD) and from waste-to-energy revenues and tax income to support the construction of the 19-kilometer Giant Sea Wall in North Jakarta.
“One of our revenue streams for the Sea Wall is from converting waste into electricity,” Governor Pramono Anung Wiboso said on Sunday (15/6/2025) during the Jakarta Future Festival at Taman Ismail Marzuki, as reported by antaranews.com
Jakarta’s current APBD stands at Rp 91 trillion, with a budget surplus (SiLPA) of around Rp 2–3 trillion. To strengthen revenue, Jakarta administration plans to build four solar-powered waste-to-energy plants, each capable of producing 1,500 MW daily.
“This helps us solve waste, meet electricity demands, reduce pollution, and generate revenue,” Govenror Pramono explained, adding that the income would directly support the Giant Sea Wall.
The project is part of a broader 500 km sea wall along Java’s northern coast, costing $80 billion.
