Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Masaki Yasushi expressed appreciation of the recent arrest of a Japanese fugitive by the Riau Islands Regional Police and the Barelang Sub-regional Police.
During his visit to the Riau Islands Regional Police headquarters on Saturday (30/3/2024), the Ambassador said that the arrest garnered attention in Japan and on social media.
Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Yan Fitri Halimansyah, who was accompanied by Deputy Chief Brigadier General Asep Safrudin, warmly welcomed the Japanese delegation .
The meeting saw Ambassador Yasushi thanked the Riau Islands Police for ensuring the safety of Japanese citizens and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation.
In addition, he highlighted the need to strengthen bilateral relations, focusing on security and investment cooperation.
The Ambassador's visit marked his inaugural official trip outside Jakarta
