inp.polri.go.id - Sentani. Jayapura Regent Yunus Wonda invited all people of Jayapura Regency to foster a spirit of nationalism and maintain unity.

Yunus, in commemorating Pancasila Day in Sentani, Monday (6/2/2025), said that Pancasila is the main foundation of national and state life, including in building a peaceful, just, and prosperous Papua.

"We must make Pancasila as a guideline for our life in diversity. Nationalism must not fade, but must become stronger amidst the challenges of the times," he said.

According to Yunus, nationalism is not only about loving the homeland, but also manifested in real actions such as maintaining harmony, working hard to build villages, and respecting differences.

"Pancasila education is important to emphasize the young generation of Papua to not lose their way and continue to love Indonesia as their homeland," he said.

He explained that children are the future generation, so they must be taught about the importance of Pancasila, mutual cooperation, justice and humanity.

"We greatly appreciate the role of traditional figures, religious figures and youth who have been at the forefront of maintaining unity in Jayapura Regency. We hope that this spirit will continue to be maintained and passed on to the next generation," he said again.

He added that Papua is an inseparable part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

With the spirit of Pancasila, he invited all parties to work together to build Jayapura Regency.
