inp.polri.go.id – Jayapura. A guerilla of TPNPB (West Papuan National Liberation Front) was reported shot dead by the joint forces of Armed Forces-Police in the Nemangkawi Task Force in Pesiga hamlet, Puyagiya village, Sugapa district, Intan Jaya regency, Papua.
Chief of PR Agency of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, explained that the shootout was happened between Nemangkawi Task Force and Armed Criminal Group (KKB) or the TPNPB guerillas at the Pesiga hamlet, Puyagiya village, Sugapa district, Intan Jaya regency, Papua, on Monday (6/12/2021).
Due to the shootout that happened at 14.15, one member of the KKB of Undius group named Marten Belau was shot dead.
"During the investigation, there was a shootout between the Nemangkawi Task Force and KKB. During the shootout, personnel successfully killed one KKB member of the Undius group named Marten Belau at the scene. The Nemangkawi Task Force then returned to the post", Chief of PR Agency of Papua Regional Police said.
Chief of PR explained that after the shootout, the situation at the Intan Jaya regency was safe and conducive.
The joint forces of Armed Forces-Police keep conducting patrol and security operations in offence-vulnerable places to narrow the perpetrators' moving space.
"I advise all people to maintain security and order in the Intan Jaya regency to stay safe and conducive. To the opposite group, please surrender soon because the security forces would keep commencing firm and measured actions to the perpetrators", he concluded.
