Indonesian President Jokowi says that the Jakarta-Bandung Bullet Train is relatively new project for Indonesia, and for that he asks people not to be scared to voice their criticisms and recommendations. “This is a new thing for us, same goes for MRT and LRT, the bullet train is new for us with its new technology, speed, construction, and financing model,” says Jokowi on Monday (10/2/2023). According to Jokowi, Indonesia must be bold and brave in learning new things. “During that process we may found new unexpected things, difficulties in the field, and other problems,” adds Jokowi. “If we are consistent in it, we may minimize the number of errors, which in turn reduce the cost of errors. And in the end the production cost, project cost will finally goes lower and lower,” explains Jokowi. He urges all parties should not be anti-critic as he sees that every criticisms and suggestions are important for infrastructure development. “I asked for all not to be allergic in criticisms, and passionate in learning as our experience will help to better build our infrastructure,” conclude Jokowi.
