Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) instructs Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to anticipate the increase of Covid-19 cases after seeing the uptrend of the virus in Indonesia. “I have ordered Health Minister to follow and analyze the development detail. As of now, according to them, situation is still under control,” says the president on Friday (12/15/2023). Jokowi says government has not pushed for the return of Covid-19 health protocols. However, he ensures that government is on watch for the virus development in the country. “We are not there yet (to enforce it again). (The case) will always be monitored by our health ministry,” ensures Jokowi. Reported Covid-19 cases in Indonesia shows an increase just recently. Even, the new variant of Covid-19 has a casualty of two in Jakarta. Government is on edge as the virus happened to reemerge ahead 2024 General Election. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
