Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Justice Supratman Andi Agtas confirmed on Sunday (23/2/2025) that a proposal to grant amnesty to seven inmates linked to an armed criminal group (KKB) has been submitted to President Prabowo Subianto.
He said the proposal was submitted through State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
“These seven inmates, currently held at Makassar prison, have signed statements expressing their commitment to rejoin the Republic of Indonesia,” Minister Supratman explained, as quoted by antaranews.com
The group is not part of the 19,337 inmates previously verified for initial amnesty, which includes non-violent offenders. The final decision now rests with President Prabowo.
The proposal follows a recommendation from legislator Tonny Tesar, who visited the prison and urged the government to consider amnesty for the armed inmates, citing their willingness to reintegrate peacefully.
