Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has sold 803,626 tickets for medium- and long-distance trains ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday season, this year. 

The figure represents 28.59% of the total 2,770,864 seats available for these routes, the company announced on Saturday (7/12/2024).

Local train ticket sales remain at 11,330, or 1.41% of the 801,724 seats provided. 

According to KAI’s VP of Public Relations Anne Purba, tickets for medium- and long-distance trains can be booked up to 45 days before departure, while local train bookings open 30 days in advance, as reported by antaranews.com.

KAI is preparing 44.7 million seats across its services during the 19 December 2024, to 5 January 2025, holiday period, including 3.5 million for long-distance trains, 35.4 million for KAI Commuter, and 4.1 million for Greater Jakarta Light Rapid Transit (LRT).

The most popular routes include Jakarta’s Pasar Senen to Surabaya, Purwosari, and Malang.
