Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian national football team received a significant boost of Rp23 billion in financial support from entrepreneurs, led by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's China Committee (KIKT).

This impromptu fundraising occurred during a celebratory event and Eid al-Fitr gathering hosted by KIKT in Jakarta on Sunday (28/4/2024), according to antaranews.com.

Spearheaded by Maruarar Sirait, KIKT Chairman Garibaldi "Boy" Thohir, and Kadin's Chairman Arsjad Rasjid, Vice Chairman Shinta Kamdani, the initiative drew contributions from many attending entrepreneurs.

Contributors included notable figures like Boy Thohir, Arsjad Rasjid, Shinta Kamdani, Indofood and Salim Group CEO Anthony Salim, Alfamart owner Djoko Susanto, ACE Hardware owner Kuncoro Wibowo, and Bali United owner Pieter Tanuri.

The fundraising aimed to offer encouragement and support to the national team, especially following their historic advancement to the AFC U-23 Asian Cup semifinals, where they triumphed over South Korea in a penalty shootout.

Indonesia national football team is scheduled to compete against Uzbekistan on Monday. The national team can secure an 2024 Paris Olympic ticket by finishing in the top three of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup or winning the inter-confederation playoff against Guinea in early May.
