The team of National Police Commission (Kompolnas) led by its secretary Benny Josua Mamoto supervised the Security Operation for 2024 General Election at Bangka Belitung Regional Police HQ on Tuesday (1/9/2024). The visit by Kompolnas was to inspect Bangka Belitung Regional Police security preparation ahead the election. After warmly welcomed by the Vice Head of Bangka Belitung Regional Police Brigadier General Sugeng Suprijanto, Kompolnas then held a meeting with the key officials and heard the report directly from the Operation Bureau Chief, Senior Superintendent M Erwin regarding the security situation in the region and what steps that the police have been taken in the security operation. “Our visit was to show our support for the Indonesian National Police (INP). We came here purely to ensure that INP has done their job magnificently,” says Benny. Furthermore, Benny says that he appreciates the initiatives taken by Bangka Belitung Regional Police who has demonstrated to them directly how prepared they are in facing security challenges of the election. “We have seen how prepared they are. However, there are several thing that needs to be done in the sea operational. However, I believe that Bangka Belitung Regional Police could accomplish it after everything we have seen and heard in here,” says Benny in his closing statement. (ad/rz/pr/nm)
