Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari and four other people as suspects on Tuesday (10/3/2026) following a sting operation targeting bribery within the Bengkulu provincial government.
“Yes, one of the suspects is indeed the Regent of Rejang Lebong,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK headquarters in Jakarta, confirming that the legal status was upgraded after investigators conducted a formal case exposition involving two alleged bribe recipients and three givers.
The case stemmed from a covert investigation and a series of hand-arrest operations conducted on 9 March 2026, which initially detained 13 people. Authorities allege dthe suspects were involved in a bribery scheme related to government infrastructure projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency.
Following intensive interrogation in Jakarta, the commission narrowed the primary suspects down to five people.
