inp.polri.go.id – Regarding the convoys that distributed brochures about the caliphate, Tte Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the Lampung Police, Commissioner Zahwani Pandra Arsyad emphasized to all members to stop that convoy. "The Lampung Regional Police Chief has ordered the convoy to be stopped, and give an appeal to them, and if they do not heed it, then we have no choice but to secure them," he said on the virtual commemoration of the birth of Pancasila in Bandar Lampung, Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He continued, the day of the birth of Pancasila was a concern for certain groups who wanted to replace the ideology of Pancasila, which was contrary to the laws of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition, this firm attention and statement was released following up on events that occurred a few days ago in several areas regarding certain groups conducting convoys and distributing brochures about the caliphate. "The Lampung Police had previously taken firm action against this group in 2021. Even the Lampung Police at the end of 2021 had processed the members of Khilafatul Muslimin, AQB and AB, at the event of a healthy walk in celebration of 1 Muharram which resulted in a crowd of people carrying flags and distribute brochures related to the caliphate," said Kabid Humas Polda Lampung. In this case, he continued, his party charged them with Article 14 paragraph (1) of the RI Law No. 4 of 1984, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code concerning the Law on infectious disease outbreaks in violation of Prokes. "The court has sentenced them to jail for three months and five days," he said. The Lampung Regional Police Chief appealed to the group not to distribute brochures about the caliphate. To the people of Lampung, he also asked those who are aware of the distribution of brochures about the caliphate to immediately report to the police for immediate action. "We also ask for help from the people of Lampung in order to provide information regarding the convoys to the distribution of brochures about the caliphate. If they know anything about it, we ask the public to immediately report to the police," he said again. Previously, a video about a convoy calling for a Muslim caliphate had gone viral on social media while passing through the Cawang area, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. In the video, the riders equip themselves with attributes that read caliphate, flags, and banners. In addition, convoy drivers were also seen distributing leaflets to road users and local residents. The leaflet also contains the name of the Khilafah organization, namely Khilafatul Muslimin, whose head office is at the Islamic Caliphate Mosque, Jalan WR Supratman, Bumi Waras, Telubetung, Bandarlampung.
