Inp.polri.go.id – Lampung. Lampung Regional Police is intensively pursued four prisoners who breaking out form Tahti Penitentiary. The four Aceh linked drug smugglers reportedly have also stolen the evidence secured by the police when breaking out of the prison. Lampung Regional Police PR Chief, Police Senior Superintendent Umi Fadila Astutik confirmed that the four prisoners are drug smugglers who were arrested from two different cases. “These prisoners are smugglers linked to Aceh drug networks. They were arrested from two different cases in Bakauheni Sea Port, South Lampung,” says Umi on Wednesday (12/6/2023). Moreover, Umi reveals that the incident revealed when one of inmates screamed on prison warden that there is a prison breakout. “At 01.00 am, our warden who were on cell patrol states that every inmate is in their cell. Then, at 03.00 am, one inmate frantically screamed, calling wardens, that there has been a prison breakout,” told Umi. Lampung Regional Police then formally announced that there were four prisoners who successfully breaking out from Tahti Penitentiary on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, at 03.00 am. Police reveals the four prisoners cut the ventilation steel with hacksaw. Currently, police is investigating on how and from where the four prisoners procured the hacksaw. (ad/pt/pr/nm)
