Led by Chief Unit of Community Development, Cartenz Peace Ops Provides Health Services at Intan Jaya Regency

The National Police's (Polri) efforts to improve the quality of public health in Papua continue to be improved by conducting Kealdi Sagu Program, which is routinely carried out by the Noken Community Development (Binmas) of Cartenz Peace Ops medical team in Intan Jaya Regency. Led by Chief Unit of Binmas Noken of Cartenz Peace Ops, Nanang Purnomo, SH., MH, and accompanied by the 2015 Miss Indonesia beauty contest finalist from West Papua, Olvah Alhamid, the health service activities were held by directly visiting people's homes in Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency , Friday (6/5). The Head of the Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops, Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said that this free health services to the people of Papua is one of the services provided by the Police. "To make it easier for the community to get access to health services, Polri is sending the Binmas Noken medical team to overcome this challenge. They are tasked to go directly to residents' homes to check their health conditions and provide free treatment to the community, given the various obstacles in the field and the lack of available health facilities in Intan Jaya Regency," said Kamal. While checking their health and providing free treatment to Pastor Herman Sondegau and Yunus Sondegau, the medical team also give health education as a provision for the community in carrying out daily activities. Commissioner Kamal also added that these activities are not only routinely carried out in Intan Jaya Regency but also in other five areas of Cartenz Peace Ops such as Yahukimo Regency, Bintang Mountains, Puncak Regency, and Nduga Regency. "We have high hopes that the health quality of the people in various areas in Papua, especially Intan Jaya Regency, can be improved through the health services provided by the medical team of Binmas Noken of Cartenz Peace Ops," added Kamal.
