“Since these internships are governed by formal contracts, the sending training institutions are obligated to monitor and support the interns,” he said on Thursday (17/4/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Speaking at the send-off event for 1,500 vocational high school graduates heading abroad from SMK Mitra Industri MM 2100 vocational high school in Bekasi, West Java, Minsiter Yassierli also revealed plans to absorb returning interns into the local workforce to ensure they are not left stranded after their contracts end.
Deputy Minister for Basic and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, emphasized the need for cross-sector collaboration to enhance both the technical skills and character development of vocational students. He encouraged industrial zones to establish vocational schools aligned with regional workforce demands.
