inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Minister of Population and Family Development (Wamendukbangga)/Vice Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, stated that the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and non-PAUD (3B) toddlers can strengthen nutritional needs during the first 1,000 days of life (ages 0-2 years).
"Breastfeeding mothers receive MBG, as do toddlers and non-PAUD toddlers; both directly benefit from this program. The first 1,000 days of life is a very important, optimal, and crucial period for preventing stunting towards achieving Indonesia's golden age of 2045," said the Vice Minister of Population and Family Planning Board on Friday (1/30/2026).
In its implementation, the Ministry of Population and Family Development involves the Family Companion Team (TPK) which distributes MBG from the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to the direct recipients of the 3B program.
The TPK also plays a role in providing education and facilitating communication regarding the specific nutritional needs of beneficiaries.
"We communicate the special needs of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers and ensure they are fully addressed. If a pregnant woman cannot consume a certain type of food, they can communicate this so that a substitute menu with equivalent nutritional content can be found, so that their nutritional needs are still met," she said.
One beneficiary, Sucu Citra (26), said the MBG 3B Program helps maintain her and her child's nutritional intake.
"This program is very helpful in maintaining children's health and preventing stunting from an early age," said Sucu.
