Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed late Saturday (31/1/2026) that Jeffrey Hendrik, currently the Director of Business Development at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), has been appointed as the Acting President Director (Pejabat Sementara).
"Jeffrey and his team will represent the BEI in a critical meeting with MSCI on Monday," hed after a high-level coordination meeting at Wisma Danantara, as cited by antaranews.com
Jeffrey took over the BEI helm after the sudden resignation of Iman Rachman on Friday as the market grappled with extreme volatility and a confidence crisis triggered by the MSCI "interim freeze" on Indonesian stock assessments.
Jeffrey, a seasoned capital market veteran who led Phintraco Sekuritas for over two decades before joining the BEI, faces the immediate task of restoring international investor trust. He emphasized that exchange operations remain fully functional despite the leadership transition.
"We are committed to building a world-class market that matches global standards not just in trading value, but in transparency and governance," Jeffrey said.
The BEI plans to officially announce the leadership structure before the market opens on Monday morning to mitigate further panic selling.
