inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Criminal Investigation Unit stated that it would investigate criminal elements related to alleged stock manipulation when the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) plummeted more than 8% in trading on Wednesday (1/28/2026).
Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Director of Special Economic Crimes at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit, stated that this stock-related case is being monitored. In fact, similar cases have already been handled by the investigative team.
"Currently, investigators are conducting inquiries into several similar cases [stock manipulation cases]," said Ade, Friday (1/30/2026).
Ade stated that the recent incidents cannot yet be explained, as they have entered the technical realm of investigation.
