Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Chairperson of Association of Indonesian Journalists Hendry Bangun says media has the responsibility to report the track records of presidential and vice-presidential candidates of 2024 General Elections. “The responsibility of the media is actually to report their track records. Which could provide decent information for the public to choose which candidate is the best,” says Bangun on Thursday (11/30/2023). According to Bangun, candidates' track records could clearly paint the picture of who they are. On the other hand, he paid no mind if the 2024 election is full of intrigues from the candidates to attract more voters as long as it would not pose a threat for state unity. “For us, at least it would be seen as routine activity, and not to be seen as something that would divide the country. Something that could divide us all, making us feel like an enemy for one another,” reminds Bangun. Next year, Indonesia would declare its new president as Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka is vying for the throne. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
