Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police are investigating an alleged unlawful detention and robbery case in Pondok Gede, Bekasi, involving suspects who claimed to be officers from the Metro Jaya Police.

The incident occurred on 14 December 2025, when a 21-year-old victim and her partner were approached at an ATM inside Pondok Gede Mall.

“Three men claimed they were police officers and accused the victim of illegal transactions before forcing them into a car,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, as quoted by antaranews.com

The suspects allegedly took the victims to the Taman Mini area, coerced them into handing over money via mobile banking, and seized a motorcycle left at the scene. Police reported losses totaling Rp4.2 million and one motorcycle.

The case is being handled by Pondok Gede Police Office, which has conducted a crime scene check and launched a full investigation.

Chief Budi stressed the suspects are not members of the Indonesian National Police (INP) and urged the public to verify officers’ identities.
