Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police in coordination with multi-agency partners, repatriated three Indonesian women who fell victim to human trafficking in Libya.

Speaking during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (4/8/2026), Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Information Sub-Directorate Superintendent Onkoseno Grandiarso Sukahar confirmed that the victims, identified by their initials NAR (21), SS (45), and NKR (39) arrived safely at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport following cross-border diplomatic and inter-agency coordination.

"The return of these three victims to the homeland marks the beginning of their protection, assistance, and recovery process so they can resume safe lives," he said.

The victims were originally recruited with promises of employment as domestic workers in Turkey earning Rp 7 million per month alongside family allowances ranging from Rp 2.5 million to Rp 3 million. However, after processing their documentation, the network illegally routed them to Libya through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Metro JayaPolice  Director of Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari Wibowo explained that the victims suffered severe economic and physical exploitation, including unpaid wages, confiscated passports, restricted freedom, inadequate food, and physical and psychological abuse.

"Libya is not an authorized destination country for Indonesian Migrant Workers under Ministry of Manpower regulations," sher Rita emphasized.

Following an investigation dated 3 July  2026, the General Crime Investigation Directorate identified two suspects, R (alias Ica) and DY. The suspect network is alleged to have illegally dispatched at least 105 illegal migrant workers overseas between 2023 and 2026.
