Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, dismissed reports of fuel shortages at private gas stations, insisting national stock remains secure. He said private companies already received the same import quotas as 2024, plus an additional 10 percent this year.
“There is no shortage. If companies want more quota, they should pursue business-to-business cooperation with Pertamina, because national reserves are still sufficient,” he told reporters at the Presidential Palace on Monday night (1/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Several private fuel retailers, including Shell, Vivo, and BP-AKR, have recently suspended sales of certain premium fuel types in Jakarta and other areas. Minister Bahlil clarified the issue stemmed from requests for additional import allocations, not a supply crisis.
He also assured that recent unrest and looting in Jakarta and other regions have not disrupted the country’s oil and gas reserves.
