inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of State Secretary explained that the operational budget for the National Energy Council (DEN) comes from the State Budget (APBN).
Minister Prasetyo stated that he did not rule out the possibility that one of the funding sources would be the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
"The establishment of a council or agency, of course, implies that everything related to the budget will come from the APBN," he said, as reported by RRI on Friday (1/30/2026).
He emphasized that the DEN's operational budget is still being discussed, including budget considerations from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.
"We will discuss it later; where it will come from is a technical matter," he said.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Bahlil Lahadalia, the Daily Chairperson, and members of DEN for the 2026-2030 term at the State Palace on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
The inauguration was stipulated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 134/P of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of National Energy Council Members from Stakeholders.
Bahlil Lahadalia, the Daily Chairperson of DEN, stated that President Prabowo Subianto has placed the energy sector as a national development priority.
Indonesia must be independent or self-sufficient in energy, in accordance with the Asta Cita (Asta Cita) of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"This demonstrates the President's commitment to prioritizing energy as a development priority. On various occasions, under Asta Cita number two, the President has consistently addressed energy security and food security," he said.
