Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. A total of 87 flights were canceled at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Wednesday (18/6/2025) due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.

“As of 4 pm local, 87 confirmed flights were impacted,” said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, the Head of Communications and Legal Division at the airport, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The disruption included 66 international and 21 domestic flights. Affected international routes involved cities like Sydney, Singapore, Melbourne, and Kuala Lumpur, while domestic cancellations included routes to Jakarta, Labuan Bajo, and Tambolaka.

Although volcanic ash was not detected in Bali’s airspace by mid-afternoon, airport authorities noted operations technically remained normal under NOTAM A1704/25.

To accommodate stranded passengers, the airport activated help desks and rest areas, while airlines allowed ticket changes, cancellations, or refunds.

Separately, six flights at Lombok Airport in West Nusa Tenggara and 10 flights at Kupang Airport  in East Nusa Tenggara were also canceled due to volcanic ash.
