Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced on Friday (30/8/2024) that the Monkeypox (Mpox) vaccine is currently focused on specific groups, such as individuals with HIV.
"The Mpox vaccine is given mainly to certain groups, like those with HIV. It's not a widespread disease; it targets specific populations," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He assured that vaccine stock remains sufficient and urged the public to maintain good hygiene practices.
House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani said that the government and DPR are jointly preparing to prevent a potential Mpox outbreak during the upcoming 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali.
Dr. Hanny Nilasari, the President of the Indonesian Dermatology and Venereology Society (Perdoski), emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene to prevent Mpox transmission.
