The Head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the National Internship Program demonstrates the government's commitment to improving human resource development as part of the effort to realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
Qodari stated that human resource development is one of the main pillars of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, which is why the government continues to increase investment in the education, health, and science and technology sectors.
"As a manifestation of this commitment, the government is opening registration for the national internship program from July 15 to 28, 2026, with a quota of 50,000 participants out of a target of 150,000 participants throughout 2026," Qodari said on Tuesday (7/21/2026).
He stated that the target number of participants for the National Internship Program in 2026 has increased compared to the previous year, which involved 102,696 participants.
According to Qodari, the program is designed to improve the competency of the younger generation while providing work experience relevant to the needs of the business and industrial world.
Through the program, he said, university graduates have the opportunity to participate in a six-month internship and receive a stipend equivalent to the provincial minimum wage (UMP) or district/city minimum wage (UMK).
In addition to providing work experience, the program also provides opportunities for participants to build professional networks, broaden their perspectives on the world of work, and increase their chances of being recruited by the companies where they intern.
"The national internship program is designed to improve the competency of the younger generation while providing work experience relevant to the needs of the business and industrial world," he said.
Based on the evaluation of the implementation of the first and second waves of the National Internship Program last year, which involved 65,245 participants and 7,217 mentors, more than 84 percent of participants stated that they were satisfied or very satisfied with the program.
