Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Museum of Indonesia will launch new narratives in three buildings—A, B, and C—on 15 October 2024, after reopening following a fire on 16 September 2023.

"Building A will explore our meaningful past," said Aprina Murwanti, the Expert Staff for Exhibition and Curator at the National Museum, on Friday (11/10/2024).

This building will feature a rotunda with sculptures from the Majapahit and Mataram Kuno periods. Visitors can also use a facial recognition feature to see which ethnic group they resemble, as reported by antaranwews.com.

Building A will also emphasize the importance of manners alongside knowledge, contrasting Western views that prioritize knowledge alone. Additionally, it will address the relationship between humanity, nature, and spirituality.

Building B will highlight Indonesia’s collective struggle for independence, aiming to educate students about the nation’s history. Meanwhile, Building C will focus on sustainability, featuring open laboratories where visitors can observe conservators at work.

The entrance fee will be Rp 25,000 for adults and Rp 15,000 for children. From15  October to 31 December 2024, Building B will host a repatriation exhibition of historical artifacts from the Singasari Kingdom.
