inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. National Police affirms that they are ready to conduct early detection of sexual violence cases that happen at Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), and it requires cooperation with the related institutions such as the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The statement was issued after the rape case towards dozens of female Pesantrenn students conducted by their teacher in one of the Pesantren in Bandung, West Java. Recently, the Pesantren administrator in Tasikmalaya was also reported to the Police for molestation allegations.
"Police could conduct collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs early to prevent similar offences by activating coordination on Sectoral and Departmental Police levels as the early detection", Chief of PR Division of National Police, Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said on Saturday (11/12/2021).
Chief of PR Division explained that the Police works professionally and ensure optimal law enforcement towards the rape cases in Pesantren.
"We are also conducting legal process every time the similar case happened", he explained further.
