Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Security Maintenance Agency Head of Community Development, Inspector General Edy Murbowo, emphasized the importance of neighborhood police in boosting safety across North Sumatra.
"Neighborhood-level security teams are essential to maintaining order on a micro level," he said on Wednesday, as reported by antaranews.com
Chief Edy explained that assigning police officers to local communities strengthens security from the ground up.
“If each neighborhood is secure, this stability will extend to villages, cities, and even the entire country,” he added.
Chief Edy highlighted the need for collaboration, noting that security cannot rely on police alone. Effective partnerships with the military, government bodies, and community leaders like neighborhood heads are essential to building a safer environment
The approach is deemed in line with the Village Law, which tasks village heads with ensuring peace in their areas.
