Sikka Police Deliver Aid to Mount Lewotobi Eruption Victims

Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo.  The Sikka Sub-regional Police in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) have distributed much-needed aid to those affected by the recent eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores.

Sikka Police Deputy Chief, Senior Inspector Nofi Posu, explained on Wednesday (5/11/2024) that the aid was delivered to several villages in Talibura District, which are currently housing thousands of evacuees. 

“We hope this assistance will help ease the hardships faced by those in shelters and in need of basic supplies,” he said.

The relief packages included rice, bottled water, ready-to-eat meals, and other essential items. The distribution took place across multiple evacuation points in Talibura, including the villages of Timutawa, Kringa, and Hikong.

As many as 345 people are sheltering in Timutawa, 228 families, 738 people in Kringa, and 695 people in Hikong, according to antaranews.com.
