New Zealand Police Liaison Office Visited Papua Regional Police HQ to Discuss Susi Air Pilot Rescue Effort

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The New Zealand Police Liaison Officer Paull Borrel visits Papua Regional Police to meet with the police chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri and Damai Cartenz Ops Chief, Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadhani to discuss about Captain Philip Mark Merhtens rescue effort who was held hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). In discussing abouth the hostage rescue, police chief Mathius states that his party and Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force have committed to rescue the pilot of Susi Air. “We have formed a special operation to rescue the pilot of Susi Air, Captain Phillip Mark Merhtens, codenamed Paro Operations. This operation demonstrates our commitment in rescuing the hostage,” said Mathius. Furthermore, Mathius also told the New Zealand representative to not be swayed with the propaganda of Benny Wenda and Veronica Koman, or any figures representing KKB and other Political Criminal Group (KKP). “Benny Wenda and Veronica Koman, or any other figures from KKB and KKP are irresponsible individuals. Thus, we hoped that the New Zealand government to instread the official government of Indonesia, particularly Papua Regional Police and Damai Cartenz Operations in rescuing Captain Philip Mark Merhtens,” Mathius said. Moreover, the Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadhani also states that the safety of the pilot is the main priority as they prioritize soft approach to free Captain Phillip. “We are always open for dialogue so that the pilot could be freed, and the approach of hard law enforcement is our last choice that we could take in rescuing the pilot captain,” explain Faizal. On the other hand, Paull gave his appreciation towards the government of Indonesian Republic, particularly Papua Regional Police and Damai Cartenz Peace Ops who have been working hard to free Captain Phillip for more than a year. “We appreciate the effort from Indonesian government, particularly Papua Regional Police and Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force who over the past year have been working hard in rescuing our pilot. We give our trust to the government and we apologized for the fallen soldiers who tried to rescue our pilot,” said Paull. Meanwhile, Damai Cartenz Ops PR Chief, Superintendent Bayu Suseno says that Indonesian National Police continues to communicate with New Zealand parties in effort of rescuing Susi Air. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
