Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police reported 3,572 traffic violations on the first day of Operation Patuh Jaya (OPJ) 2025, a major traffic enforcement initiative in the capital and surrounding areas.
“On 14 July 2025, the first day of OPJ, we recorded 1,920 electronic tickets (ETLE), 69 manual citations, and issued 1,583 verbal warnings,” said Metro Jaya Police Deputy Director of Traffic Senior Superintendentl Argo Wiyono on Tuesday (15/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Motorcyclists dominated violations, including 982 cases of non-standard helmets and 190 for driving against traffic. Car drivers were cited for mobile phone use (4 cases) and not wearing seatbelts (474 cases).
Police also conducted 1,415 public education sessions and distributed 2,684 banners and flyers. However, some key roads, including Sudirman-Thamrin and Asia Afrika, lacked CCTV coverage.
The 14-day operation, from July 14–27, involves nearly 2,938 joint officers.
