Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Papua Regional Police will help to supply oxygen needs in Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital. The statement was issued by Chief of Papua Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri, when meeting Chief Director of Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital, dr. Silwanus Sumule, and inspecting Covid-19 patients condition in that government-owned hospital. During the meeting, Silwanus explained the empty oxygen supply at Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital. He explained that only 20 tanks left this morning, and by afternoon, all oxygen tanks have been used.
"What we are needed now is the oxygen tanks. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 treatment room will be moved to the heart specialist ward. I hope heart disease patients will decrease in not a long time", he said during the meeting in Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital on Tuesday (20/7).
Chief Director of Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital also hopes that the hospital can produce oxygen by themselves in August, producing 300 tanks per day.
"We are waiting for the oxygen filling equipment that is now in delivery to Papua", he explained.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Papua Regional Police said that regarding problems at Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital, he would temporarily lend the oxygen tanks from Bhayangkara Hospital.
"We hope this aid could be beneficial for Dok II Jayapura Regional General Hospital and to provide maximum treatment to Covid-19 patients. I hope Covid-19 case number in Papua could decrease soon", he said.
