Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated Government has increased social protection budget by Rp55.21 trillion, allocated for social assistance to deal with Covid-19 pandemic. Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all his staff to accelerate the distribution of social assistance from the Government. According to him, this is to ease the burden of community in the middle of Level 4 PPKM period in Java-Bali. "Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police together with other stakeholders accelerate the distribution of social assistance to communities affected by Covid-19," Sigit said when holding Vicon with all ranks at Indonesia National Police Headquarter, South Jakarta, Wednesday (07/21/2021). The former Chief of Banten Regional Police also ensured all ranks of Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police, such as NCO law enforcement officerand community police officer, mapped their respective areas, so social assistance distribution was right on target. Not only in areas that apply PPKM Level 4, but also in PPKM Level 3 and PPKM Micro. "As we have done so far, assistance from Government distributed through Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National police will be ensured to be delivered right on target to the people in Indonesia. We have instructed our staff to do the mapping," the former Head of Crime Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police said. Besides Government, Sigit said Indonesia National Armed Forces-Indonesia National Police will also provide social assistance to communities affected by the economy. Although it has been running since the beginning of pandemic and Emergency PPKM, in the future this will also be done when implementing the current Level 4 PPKM. For the record, since the Emergency PPKM was first implemented on July 3 to July 19, 2021, at least Indonesia National Police have distributed 475,420 packages of nine-basic-needs and 2,471,217 Kilograms of rice to the public. Then, in 2020, social assistance distributed by Indonesia  National Police amounted to 394,347 packages of nine-basic need, 30,000 tons of rice, 790,436 medical equipment/PPE, and established 13,119 public kitchens. Meanwhile, until July 2, 2021, the social assistance provided by Indonesia National Police was 750,780 packages of nine-basic-needs, 3,753 tons of rice, 763,079 medical equipment/PPE, and the establishment of 143,467 public kitchens. "Keep moving to make sure community get social assistance in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Regional Police are moving quickly in the distribution. So that in the future there will be no more complain from the community about not getting assistance," Sigit said. Therefore, Sigit again reminded the public  not to hesitate to communicate with authorities to ask for social assistance again if runs out of daily needs.  Later, it was confirmed by Sigit, his staff would return to send the social assistance provided both by the government and Indonesia National Police. He also said people can also report if there are neighbors who have not received social assistance. "Distribute social assistance and medicines with proactive and reactive method so they can be right on target," Sigit said. In this case, Sigit also invited all elements of society, ranging from students, activists, Youth Organization and mass organizations, to lend a hand to support others and socialize health protocols and national vaccination acceleration program. Meanwhile, Sigit also instructed his staff to provide assistance regarding budget allocation for handling Covid-19 pandemic. Related to this, Sigit has also asked Chief of Regional Police to coordinate with Governor and Regional Attorney Office (Kajati). Then, Chief of Resort Police needs to communicate with Regent, Mayor and Head of Attoerney Office. The coordination was carried out in relation to the low achievement of regional expenditures related to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Among them, various types of community assistance, nine-basic-needs social assistance and central cash social assistance. Then, the construction of isolation houses by local government as well as the procurement and distribution of medicines. "The success indicator is that all regional expenditures are carried out quickly and on target and are accountable," Sigit said. The most important thing, said Sigit, is for people to stay at home, and if they need to go out, always apply health protocols with discipline. The current policy, according to Sigit, is for the common good and aims to save community and suppress the growth rate of Covid-19. "We are doing all of this for the safety of community. Of course we all hope the growth rate of Covid-19 will quickly decline, so people can return to their activities," Sigit concluded.
