inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Ahmad Fahrur Rozi, or familiarly called Gus Fahrur, appreciated the police's performance in uncovering the online gambling (judol) case involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi). According to Gus Fahrur, the involvement of Komdigi employees in this practice is a serious violation that must be thoroughly investigated.
"We appreciate the hard work of the police who managed to catch online gambling perpetrators, including the alleged involvement of Komdigi employees who played around with government regulations. This is a serious violation that needs to be followed up," said Gus Fahrur, Friday (1/11/2024).
Gus Fahrur stated that PBNU fully supports the government's efforts to eradicate online gambling. According to him, online gambling practices not only harm the community's economy, but also have a negative impact on mental health.
"We fully support the government's move to close down online gambling which is very detrimental to the economy and damages people's mental health. Online gambling causes stress, depression, and other mental disorders such as the tendency to lie, steal, and sell valuables for gambling," he said.
Gus Fahrur emphasized that handling online gambling must be carried out seriously by law enforcement officers and related ministries and institutions. He said this is in line with the objectives of establishing the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force through Presidential Decree Number 21 of 2024.
