Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski voiced strong optimism that the Indonesia–EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) will significantly boost bilateral trade once implemented.

“We are ready to cooperate across many sectors. We offer various services and products, and of course this cooperation will become much easier once IEU-CEPA enters into force,” he told reporters at the Polish Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday (13/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

Deputy Minister Bartoszewski said the agreement, whose substantive terms were finalized in Bali in September, will undergo ratification at the European Parliament, a process expected to take around one year. Full implementation is targeted for 1 January 2027, enabling both countries to “trade more freely.”

Poland plans to expand exports of machinery, automotive parts, mining equipment, poultry, fruit, wheat, and meat. Bartoszewski added that Poland’s growing halal industry is ready to increase shipments to Indonesia.

Despite positive ties, he said bilateral trade, still below US$2 billion annually, remains far too small given Indonesia’s population and market size. He believes IEU-CEPA will help elevate the figure to a more “ideal” level.
