inp.polri.go.id - The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) along with the ranks of the Resort Police in the region, continue to check and socialize the prevention of mouth and nail disease (FMD), ahead of Eid al-Adha.
Mouth and nail disease (FMD) is a viral disease that is highly contagious in split-toed or bifurcated animals, such as cattle and sheep.
Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the West Java Police (Polda Jabar), Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo said that this inspection was the first step to minimize the spread of FMD which is currently become an endemic in several areas.
Kabid Humas Polda Jabar said, in addition to checking and socializing the spread of FMD, his party had also carried out mapping to anticipate the spread of FMD. For example, for the West Java area, it is no longer allowed to sell split-toed or bifurcated animals, such as cattle and sheep, outside the West Java area.
"For West Java in particular, later, it will be no longer allowed to send or sales the split-toed animals outside West Java," he said.
However, this cannot be implemented yet, because at this time his party is still waiting for the decision to take these anticipatory steps.
Kabid Humas Polda Jabar appealed to animal breeders, such as cows and goats, to always maintain the cleanliness of the pen, spraying Inapectant liquids, coordinating with the Health Service and the Agriculture Service to prevent FMD.
"In addition, livestock;s health must also be regularly checked, then routinely check the cleanliness of the pen, and also don't forget to give vitamins to the livestocks," he said.
