inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. Adam Gazali, from Jakarta, admitted that he was a victim of fraud selling tickets for the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP through a website. In response to that, the NTB Police conducted an investigation.
"Regarding the alleged fraud through a website, we will investigate the case through the cyber function," explained the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the NTB Police (Polda NTB), Commissioner Artanto in Mataram, Saturday (19/3/2022).
The victim said he was being scammed after purchasing 32 tickets for the 2022 MotoGP spectators. He bought them through a travel agent from Lombok, named Ari. He then received an email message from Ari in the form of a website link to purchase his 32 tickets for MotoGP 2022.
"The website is 'motogpmandalikatiket.com'," said Adam when confirmed by telephone.
The victim realized that he was being scammed after his colleague exchanged e-tickets from the website 'motogpmandalikatiket.com' at the exchange counter located at the ex-Selaparang Airport, Mataram City, Wednesday (16/3).
The ticket exchange counter officer stated that the 'barcode' of Adam's e-ticket was not registered in the system. This was the basis for Adam to file a complaint to Polda NTB against Ari who was suspected of committing fraud.
In his complaint, Adam asked that this case can be resolved through mediation.
Ari as the alleged perpetrator was present at the mediation on Wednesday (16/3). In the agreement, Ari was given a deadline of Thursday (17/3) night to return the ticket money paid by Adam worth Rp70 million.
If he doesn't keep his promise, Ari will be reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Polda NTB regarding the alleged online fraud.
