inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The West Papua Provincial Police (Polda Pabar), along with all Polres in the region, intensify market operations on a regular basis. This is done to prevent the accumulation of cooking oil which has an impact on scarcity in the market.
Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Pabar, Commissioner Adam Erwindi, S.I.K., M.H., explained that according to the direction of the West Papua Police Chief (Kapolda Pabar) Inspector General Dr. Tornagogo Sihombing, S.I.K., M.Sc., the food task force have coordinated with government technical agencies to jointly carry out supervision.
"Polda Pabar, together with the Regional Police, have moved to help the government to prevent the hoarding of cooking oil. This is in accordance with the direction of the National Police Chief," explained Kabid Humas Wednesday (16/3/2022).
He said the West Papua Regional Police had opened a quick complaint service to receive public complaints if they found hoarding or cooking oil prices outside the normal range.
"The people of West Papua can report to Polda Pabar's quick complaint service or report to the nearest police station if they find any hoarding or selling of cooking oil at an unreasonable price than the normal price," he further explained.
Meanwhile, the Manokwari Police Chief, AKBP Parisian, Herman Gultom, stated that the stock of cooking oil in the Manokwari Police jurisdiction was still relatively safe.
"There is no shortage. There have been no reports regarding the hoarding of cooking oil, but we will continue to monitor the field," said Manokwari Police Chief.
