Police officers and PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol extended and added contraflow lanes on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road towards Cikampek, following the congestion of traffic on the route during the Christmas and New Year holiday season on Saturday (23/12/2023). Ria Marlinda Paallo, Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, said in a statement that the contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll road  was implemented at the discretion of the police, She said that the contraflow policy was implemented since 6.35 am because there was a density of traffic flow. Initially, the contraflow was applied from KM 55 to 65. Then at 7 am, the contraflow implementation was extended to 18 kilomters, from KM 47 to KM 65 toward Cikampek. Contraflow is a traffic management system that can change the normal direction of vehicle flow on the toll road. This traffic engineering system requires motorists to go through the opposite direction, carried out at the discretion of the police. Ria said that PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol optimised transaction services at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate by operating a total of 18 toll booths from the normal condition of 15 toll booths during the Christmas and New Year holiday season.
